backyard takes place in early 2020, when my life-long introspection came to a head. I stayed home, started taking care of my plants, and took the time to sit with myself. Little did I know that this would also be all I’d do for the rest of 2020.
I posted backyard on Instagram between July and November 2020, two pages a week. Between the comic and other pieces, my drawing skills improved greatly during this period. I’d draw it differently now, but I’m not drawing it now. I love it very much for what it is.
